Router security lockdown

Your router may still trust the password it shipped with

Purpose Built AI provides a professional security reset for homes and small businesses. We identify the hardware, review firmware, replace unsafe factory settings, strengthen Wi-Fi and administrator access, review WPS and remote management, separate guests and connected devices where supported, and leave you a written recovery record.

  • Home $199 one time
  • Business $750 one time
  • Written record you keep
  • Thirty-day window on our changes
What a locked-down network looks like The internet connection enters one router. After the lockdown, household or staff devices sit on one network and guest and smart-home devices sit on a separate network, so the two groups cannot reach each other. INTERNET ROUTER FIRMWARE + ADMIN RESET NEW CREDENTIALS WPA3 WHERE SUPPORTED YOUR DEVICES LAPTOPS, PHONES, WORK GUEST AND IoT VISITORS, CAMERAS, TVS SEPARATED
Guest and device separation is applied where the hardware supports it. Some routers do not, and we tell you which yours is.
How we work

We work only on networks you own or are explicitly authorized to manage. We do not intercept third-party traffic, recover other people's passwords or use customer networks as security experiments.

What it costs

Published prices, and a clear line around what is included

Home Router Lockdown

$199
One time

For a house or apartment running one router or one mesh system.

  • One primary router or mesh system
  • Up to three mesh nodes
  • Model, hardware revision and firmware verification
  • Factory Wi-Fi and administrator credential replacement
  • WPA3 when supported, otherwise WPA2-AES
  • WPS and unnecessary remote-management review
  • UPnP, DNS, automatic-update and connected-device review
  • Guest and IoT separation where supported
  • Written configuration and recovery record without secrets
  • Thirty-day correction window for settings changed during service

Router Care

$125
Per month, after the business lockdown

An ongoing review service for businesses that have already completed the lockdown.

  • Verified device inventory
  • Monthly manufacturer advisory and firmware review
  • Quarterly configuration verification
  • One annual credential-rotation session
  • Written change record
  • Priority response to router-security notices

Both lockdowns are one-time services with the scope listed above. If your site has more hardware than the tier covers, we tell you before the appointment and quote the difference in writing. Router Care is available after the business lockdown and is billed monthly.

What the appointment looks like

Four steps, then a document you keep

01

We confirm authorization

Before anything is touched, we confirm you own the network or have authority from the owner. For business sites that confirmation is written and kept on file.

02

We identify the hardware

Model, hardware revision and current firmware, for every router, gateway or access point in scope. Some older hardware is past the point where the manufacturer still issues fixes, and you will hear that from us plainly.

03

We replace the unsafe defaults

Factory Wi-Fi and administrator credentials are replaced. Encryption moves to WPA3 where the hardware supports it and WPA2-AES where it does not. WPS, remote management, UPnP and DNS settings are reviewed and adjusted.

04

We hand off the record

You get a written configuration and recovery record with no secrets in it, plus the new credentials handed to you directly. Then a thirty-day window covers the settings we changed.

Router Care

Keeping the configuration honest after we leave

A lockdown is accurate on the day it is done. Firmware changes, manufacturers publish advisories, staff come and go, and devices get added. Router Care is the scheduled review that keeps the configuration matching the record.

  • Verified device inventory
  • Monthly manufacturer advisory and firmware review
  • Quarterly configuration verification
  • One annual credential-rotation session
  • Written change record
  • Priority response to router-security notices

What Router Care is not

Router Care is not 24/7 monitoring and it is not an incident-response retainer. Nobody is watching your network around the clock, and this plan does not commit us to responding to an active security incident.

It is a scheduled review service on the cadence listed here. If you need continuous monitoring or incident response, we will tell you that this is not it.

Request service

Tell us about the network and we will confirm a time

Send the basics below. Jesse replies personally, usually the same day, to confirm scope, the price tier and an appointment window.

Please do not include passwords, Wi-Fi keys, serial numbers or account details here.

We never ask for secrets through this form. Do not send passwords, Wi-Fi keys, serial numbers, IMEIs, payment information or network diagrams. Access is arranged at the appointment, and new credentials are handed to you directly at the end of the visit.

Frequently asked

Straight answers before you book

Will my internet go down while you work?

There are short restarts. A router reboots when firmware or key settings change, so expect a few brief interruptions during the appointment. We schedule around the times that matter to you and we confirm every device is back online before we finish.

Do I have to give you my passwords?

No. Never send passwords, Wi-Fi keys or serial numbers through the form on this page. Access is arranged at the appointment, and new credentials are handed to you directly at the end of the visit. We do not keep them.

What if something stops working afterward?

Every service includes a thirty-day window for settings we changed. Home service includes a thirty-day correction window and business service includes thirty-day remediation verification. If a printer, camera or smart device needs to be brought back onto the network, that is covered.

Is Router Care the same as monitoring?

No. Router Care is not 24/7 monitoring and it is not an incident-response retainer. It is a scheduled review service: monthly manufacturer advisory and firmware review, quarterly configuration verification, one annual credential-rotation session, and a written change record.

Is this penetration testing?

No. This is defensive configuration work on a network you own or are authorized to manage. We do not test other people's systems, intercept third-party traffic or recover other people's passwords.

What if my router is too old to secure?

You will hear that plainly, with the model and the reason. Some hardware no longer receives manufacturer fixes, and no amount of configuration changes that. We will tell you what the limits are rather than quietly working around them.
